What do tree and vine guards protect against?
They shelter young plants from rabbits, hares and other browsing animals, from wind, and from herbicide drift when spraying weeds around the base. They also hold warmth and moisture around the stem while the plant establishes.
What's the difference between sleeves, twin-wall guards and fluted guards?
Sleeves are flexible plastic tubes, quick to fit over a stake and economical across large plantings. Twin-wall corrugated vine guards and welded fluted tree guards are rigid, stand up better to wind and animals, and hold their shape for longer.
Should I choose 100 or 200 micron sleeves?
Micron is the film thickness. 100 micron light-duty sleeves suit sheltered sites and shorter use; 200 micron heavy-duty sleeves are tougher and last longer in exposed sites.
